Prompt 29. Stepping Beyond Comfort
Finding growth in life’s challenges and joy in simple pleasures.
As the winter chill settles in, I’ve been enjoying a simple and cozy snack: slices of tart apples paired with Canadian maple butter and a pinch of flaky salt. A friend brought these treats on a recent visit, and they’ve quickly become my favorite way to slow down and savor the season. It’s a small reminder of how it’s the simple things that can bring us comfort and joy.
Today’s journal prompt comes from Makeba, whose words really resonated with me this week:
Think about a time when you were pushed out of your comfort zone. How did it challenge you, and what did you learn about yourself or the world around you?
Makeba’s reflection on stepping beyond the familiar is a reminder of how much we can grow in those moments. Maybe it was trying something new, navigating an unexpected change, or making a tough decision. Those experiences can feel uncomfortable, but they often lead to clarity, strength, and fresh perspectives.
As you write today, take a moment to acknowledge how those challenges shaped you. What did you learn about yourself or your ability to navigate life’s twists and turns? And perhaps, as you reflect, enjoy a small, grounding treat—like apples and maple butter—to remind yourself of the sweetness that often follows moments of growth.
Wishing you an amazing Sunday! ✨
